The Kingdom of Potwain is a parallel universe to our own. They believe in separation for the good of both universes. A very interesting new world well thought out and described. How they maintain that separation is the main premise at the start of this story. In order to keep the two worlds from interacting they must send someone to our world, a man with many skills to keep the two worlds apart. How he interacts with the inhabitants of our world is interesting and compelling.

I enjoyed the separate world created within the Kingdom of Potwain and the inhabitants. It was an interesting new world and the only thing I was disappointed in was that we didn't learn more about this world. Hopefully in the next of the series we will.

Ms. McKevitt has created a YA novel with interesting and complex characters who relate to each other well. The storyline is good and flows well. The dialogue was realistic and moved the story forward well. The action scenes played out with good descriptions so the reader is able to imagine what is happening. The book is well written and is appropriate to the targeted age group and audience.

Overall this is a very good book that addresses many issues young people have without a "preachy" attitude within the context of a great action packed and fun story.

I am looking forward to the next instalment.

Fracture The Secret Enemy Saga Virginia M Mckevitt 9781475051735 Books Reviews

First off, I have to say Kudos to Ms. McKevitt for creating a world that instantly grabs hold of you and takes you on an amazing journey! I absolutely loved this book. It is a unique story about a fracture between worlds that has characters that you can't help but instantly fall in love with. They are strong, and emotional and yes, even funny at times! The writing flows and takes you to a place that is described in such wonderful detail that you feel as if you have been swept through the fracture yourself.
I can't wait to start reading book two! What a wonderful story that will leave you breathless and cheering for the hero's and heroines! Again, I have to congratulate Ms. McKevitt for a job beyond well done!
Thank you for taking me on a wonderful, wild ride - not many books can do that and leave you wanting more - but this one certainly did!!!!
The story begins in our world, with an incursion of dangerous beings from another world linked to ours. They steal our thoughts, feeding on them. A highly placed tracker/soldier is sent to dispatch them. We meet Sissy and Jimmy, two humans caught up in the action along with Kristina, a very important character to come. The first half of the book is filled with exposition, highly detailed, of this other world and the impact, the danger to our own. It's an immersive story of an enthralling alien land. At the same time, it's a sad and sweet story of Kristina, the nineteen yr old, who's just lost her parents to unspeakable horror and Tegrin, a battle hardened, weary elite soldier/assassin. Fate has brought them together, to teach each other some hard lessons and some beautiful ones. There's lots of political intrigue and duplicity. It would seem their land and ours, while different, have some things in common.
A lovely book to lose yourself in, from well developed characters to intriguing storylines, there is something for everyone in this book, this series. Thank you Virginia, for sharing this with us. We look forward to continuing the series.
I was quickly drawn into the world of this book! I loved how seamlessly the characters were introduced. She took her time in developing the story lines. I'm very excited to start book 2!
A smartly accomplished and compelling plot! Talent and imagination meet technique in the unlikeliest of places.... the "Fracture" between two worlds.

The characters are driven by McKevitt's own hand. Built by her obvious vivid imagination you will come to know them personally. They will pull you in to the story not chapter by chapter but paragraph by paragraph.

McKevitt's writing style is freshly surprising and flourishes with touches of realism that make the "Secret Enemy Saga" a double edged tale that lingers long after the last word is read.

McKevitt's thought processes are well formed and believable. Maybe too believable.

The ending left me wanting more ...... Thankfully, Book 2 is in the works!
Keep writing McKevitt!
Fracture is such an awesome read! I love the characters! Virginia has brought them to life & they are so real. Tegrin & Kristina is just drawn together so that you can see they are soul mates, meant to be together forever! I love the plot to this book it has a twist that kept me rivited to this book where I had a hard time putting it down. Even before I read book 2, The Hunted, I could tell this series had become one of my favorites! It`s a story that captivating! Couldn`t wait to start book 2
I've had this book on my to be read list for awhile and resisted reading it as it's not really my genre. However, the story is compelling and an exciting adventure with characters I learned to care about. Thank goodness there are two more books in the series!
Good story but....While I understand this is a fantasy it should still have a reality. I found it beyond belief that the humans that met the "Lion Man" immediately accepted him & they instantly trusted him & became friends. The heroine loses her parents and appears to be hardly affected by the loss except to want revenge. There's no funeral - just an immediate journey with Lion Man. While the town of Blessing is supposed to be a small town there's almost no information on the town or other residents. The story is interesting & compelling and I will most likely purchase the next in the series as the writer does leave you wanting to learn more about the parallel kingdom & the characters.
